The Homeless Prevention program provides financial assistance for people in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties who are going to lose their rental unit within 14 days, and for whom no other resources are available. Help may be available to pay back rent, overdue utility bills, security deposits, and first month’s rent for a new unit, up to $3,500. This program does not prevent eviction proceedings, provide case management, or help find housing.
